DAN BAUER
Why would you like to be a Board Member?
I'd like to be part of the team that turns AVHA into a continuously expanding group and to balance the "fun" and the "competition" within youth hockey. I'd like to be more involved and basically "pay back" for what my family has received from AVHA.
What do you offer the Board/Association?
I am currently working as a reinsurance broker and previous to that was a corporate software trainer. The skills I bring to the table are negotiation, project management and training skills. In addition, I have coached my children in baseball, football, and soccer, so I understand the variety of issues in youth sports (player development, parent development, etc.)
How would you like to be involved in the Board?
At this point, I am unsure where I would be involved, but am sure I could be of assistance on multiple fronts.
How have you been involved in the association?
My wife and I have been managers of several teams since we came into AVHA just over 4 year ago.
How long have you been an AVHA Member and what age/s and level/s is/are my players?
We have been part of AVHA for 4 years. We currently have one Squirt (10 years old), one Mite 3 (8 years old) and one Mite 1 (6 years old).
Thank you for your consideration.
TONY COBB
I have served on the Board for the past 3 years and would like to continue doing so for another term. I enjoy working for the youth and families of our association, as we continually strive to improve our program, to become stronger teams and make hockey a game many kids can play and enjoy for life.
I started playing hockey as a PeeWee and have continued in the hockey community in some way since then. Having been a player, a coach, and a board member, my experiences offer insight and knowledge to the Board and Association as a whole. In the last couple of years, my role on the Board has included the maintenance and enhancement of our Dryland Training Center, running the tournaments alongside my wife, a large involvement in the mite program, and as a voice to the hockey committee. I see myself carrying on in these roles should I be re-elected. My other role in the association has been as a coach, as I have coached from Mite 1 through PeeWees and just this year for the girls 10UA.
My family has been part of AVHA for 9 years and will continue to be around for many more years. We have 3 children who currently play with AVHA: Ryan - Bantams, Abbey - 10UA, and Matthew - Mite 3.
Thank you for considering me for another term with the AVHA Board.

Why you would like to be a Board Member?
I would like to join the AVHA board to provide a new perspective and contribute to a well-rounded group.
What do you offer the Board/Association?
Professionally, I have years of experience in marketing, advertising, and sales including newspaper and internet. As an athlete I was fortunate enough to play for several successful associations that were built largely by the community with a strong emphasis on fundamentals.
How would you like to be involved?
I am willing to contribute to the board in any way I can help. However, I feel as a parent who did not play hockey, and now has three children playing, I can provide input to draw a large number of new members into the mite program. I can also help to efficiently market the AVHA product and present ideas to create a fundamentally sound hockey association that will breed success all the way through the high school level.
How have you been involved in the association?
My family has been part of the Apple Valley Hockey Association for four years.
What age/s and level/s is/are your player/s?
I have three children playing at the Mite level and a two year old very anxious to participate. Jackson is a Mite 4 and also on the Advanced Mite Traveling team, Alison is a Mite 2 and Finn is a Mite 1.
I have been extremely impressed with the association and its number of willing volunteers, and look forward to many more years to come.
AMY LARSON
My name is Amy Larson and I would like to be one of your representatives on the AVHA Board.
My husband, Rick, and I have 2 children and this is our family's 10th season in AVHA. Our son is currently a Bantam and our daughter is a 12U. Over the course of those ten years, I have been very active with the teams and association, including being a member of the board for the past three years. During my time on the board I have helped with the annual raffle, coordinated the volunteer events for the teams, and set up events with the Minnesota Wild.
My interest in joining the AVHA Board is to ensure decisions are being made for the betterment of the entire Association and players at all age levels and all skill levels. During my years of involvement with AVHA, I have heard a lot of good ideas. I would like to help be the voice to bring those ideas forward that members have, so they can be shared with the board for the advancement of the association.
Thank you for your consideration.

DAN SACKETT
I am writing to show my interest in becoming an active Board Member in the Apple Valley Hockey Association. I have been happy with the position of the Board and what they do for the youth and community of Apple Valley. My family moved to Apple Valley in the summer of 2005 and has enjoyed the community very much and I would like to do my part to give back to the community. While going to school in Winona from 1997-2000 I held numerous positions in the Student Government including but not limited to: Program Representative, Secretary, Vice President, & Social Event Chairperson. At my previous employer¸ I was involved in both the Safety Committee and Recycling Committee providing insight and instruction on how to reduce cost and increase safety and social responsibility for our company. Presently, I am a member of the MSP Airport Watch Group where it is my responsibility to assist in the safety and security awareness of the International Airports perimeter. As you can see, I am aware of the duties and responsibilities that may be asked of me. I would like to be involved in the Board to help the Apple Valley Hockey Association to be a professional, productive, and successful part of the Apple Valley community by creating a positive environment for our youth as well as enrichment for all involved. I am open to different roles within the Board for which my service may enrich the association.
My daughter is Emma Sackett and is currently a member of the Apple Valley 10UA team. This is Emma’s fifth year playing with the Apple Valley Hockey Association and we have been very happy as members. In the years that my daughter has been a member, I have tried to give back to the association for their part in her progress. I have been a team manager on all her teams except the first year. I have managed her Mite teams for two years, as well as managing the 8U team two years ago and the 10UB team last year. I am presently the Manager for the 10UA team. I am blessed to have met so many wonderful people while being a part of the association and look forward to meeting more. Emma is currently ten and attending school at Cedar Park while playing 10U hockey. We look forward to the upcoming years watching her grow both personally and academically, but also as an athlete in the Apple Valley Hockey Association.
Thank you for your consideration.
