This is the place where members can learn more about our coach selection committee and processes. It is also a spot where applicants can apply to coach, and coaches can share drills and ideas for development philosophies. This is the spot where our HDC will communicate ideas for drills, practice plans and coaching tips to our coaches.
Coaches Committee: The Coaches Committee is our Hockey Development Committee. The job of the committee is to solicit, interview, research and recommend coaching candidates to AVHA Board for approval. The goal of this committee is to get the best possible coaches for AVHA teams. If a member of the Coaches Committee is a coaching candidate, he or she will be removed from the selection process at that level.
The 2nd Annual Women’s Coaches Education Clinic will be on Sunday September 25, 2022. The Clinic will be held at the Plymouth Community Center – Plymouth, MN. The start time will be 10:30 am and should end around 5:30 pm (depending on the clinic). It is important to note - this clinic is for female coaches only and we have a great list of female coach developers that will lead the clinics.
This is a great opportunity to get your Level 1, 2, or 3 CEP for the year! If you are not sure what the Coaching Education Program (CEP) is – here is a link to read about it. USA Hockey CEP
In order to coach in any USA Hockey/Minnesota Hockey programs, you need to have a Coaching Certification (CEP). Plus, this is a great professional development opportunity!
