2011-2012 Mite Registration

Mite Walk-In Registration Dates:

Tuesday, October 18       5 pm - 7 pm  Apple Valley Community Center

Mandatory Mite Parent Meeting: Tuesday, October 18
New Mite Parents: 6 pm - 7 pm
Returning Mite Parents: 7 pm - 8 pm

Mite Players have a birthdate on and between: 7/1/2002 - 6/30/2007.  USA Hockey registration is free for 2005, 2006, and 2007 birth years.  Player birthdates on or before 7/1/2000, please go to Traveling Player registration.

Registration Fees

First Year Mites - FREE / Returning Mites - $130 + USA Hockey fee

Fee includes registration, jersey and ice time for the season . We will be repeating our Mite Development and Advanced Mite programs.  If you have any questions please contact our Mite Coordinator, Eric Martinson, at Mite coordinator. 

Communication

The majority of our association and team communication is delivered via email and the AVHA website (applevalleyhockey.com). There is an Email List Manager, in the lower right corner of the website, which allows users to select the communications they would like to receive. To ensure you receive the information needed please select to receive: “association communication” and after tryouts select the team/s your players are placed on.  Also, add message@applevalleyhockey.com to your email "safe list" so that emails do not go to your "junk or spam mail" folders.

Volunteer Commitment

The concession stand at Hayes and the AVHS Sports Arena provide AVHA with income to keep our cost of playing hockey one of the lowest around and AVHA requires all of our families to volunteer.  Mite families are required to complete 5 hours per mite player. (Example: if you have 2 players in Mites you must volunteer 10 hours.)  And each family needs to complete a minimum of 5 hours for tournaments and playoffs.  This includes our Boys Tournament in November, Girls Tournament in January, and District 8 playoffs in February/March.  Additional information regarding volunteering and the on-line system will be communicated at the mite parent meeting.

Fundraisers

AVHA will be repeating our very successful raffle fundraiser from last two seasons.  Each family will be asked to sell one book of tickets to fulfill their part of the fundraiser.  Additional details will be communicated at the Parent Meeting.

Registration Process:

All players are required to register with USA Hockey prior to registering with AVHA.  Please take the following steps to complete registration:

1. Register all players with USA Hockey
   1. There will be a $40 fee, except players with 2005 & later birth years.  New Mite players should attend one of the walk-in registration sessions if they want AVHA to pay the USA Hockey fee to keep their hockey FREE. 
2. Write down your USA Hockey confirmation number/s; you will need these to complete your AVHA registration. You will also be emailed a confirmation.
3. Click “Start Registration”
