2011-2012 Registration Fees

To keep up with the increased costs of running the AVHA, for the first time in several years we are increasing the registration fee for traveling players. You have an opportunity to avoid this cost increase by registering by the 5th of September.  Those registering on the 6th or later will be charged the increased rate.

Registration fees/dates:

August 1st – September 5th: $255 + $40 USA Hockey fee/player

After September 5th:  $305 + $40 USA Hockey fee/player

The AVHA registration fee includes registration, clinics/tryouts and squirt/10u ice time and new socks.  No refunds for those that choose not to attend clinics/tryouts.

Jersey Fitting

We will be having a fitting session for both returning players in need of new or replacement jerseys and for ALL first year traveling players on August 10 from

6 pm - 7:30 pm at the Apple Valley Training Center.

First Time Traveling Players - FREE

In an effort to grow our programs, AVHA again will be waiving the registration fee and providing a $75 voucher for protective equipment for new traveling players (those that have never played hockey with another association) registering to play hockey for the first time. To receive this discount, please select no to the question “Have you played for AVHA or another hockey association previously?”

Jr. Gold $255 + $40 USA Hockey Fee

Registration for Jr. Gold will be open until after High School Tryouts.

Traveling Team Clinics and Tryouts

Players wishing to be on an A or B team must attend tryouts and are encouraged to participate in the clinics.  If a player does not attend tryouts they will be placed on the lowest level team offered at their level.  Further information is available in the AVHA Guide.

  • Bantams/PeeWees/14U/12U:  September 16th – October 8th
  • Squirts/10U:  October 2nd – November 3rd (open hockey, development and tryouts)

Financial Assistance

Each season the AVHA allocates limited funds for families that are experiencing long-term financial hardship.  If you would like to request Financial Assistance please review the Financial Assistance Policy, than complete and submit the Financial Assistance Application. Financial Aid requests are held in strict confidence.  If you have any questions, please contact the AVHA Treasurer.

High School Tryouts Reimbursement Policy

A player electing to try-out for and are placed on a high school team will be refunded a portion of their registration fee.  They are responsible for the USA Hockey fee and a pro rata share of team costs incurred up to the time they move to the high school team.

Fundraisers

AVHA will be repeating our very successful raffle fundraiser from the last two seasons.  Each family will be asked to sell one book of tickets to fulfill their part of the fundraiser.  Additional details will be communicated at the Parent Meetings.

Communication

The majority of our association and team communication is delivered via email and the AVHA website. There is an Email List Manager, in the lower right corner on the website, which allows users to select the communications they would like to receive.  To ensure you receive the information needed please select to receive: “association communication” and after tryouts select the team/s your players are placed on.  Also, add message@applevalleyhockey.com to your email "safe list" so that emails do not go to your "junk or spam mail" folders.
