2007-2008 Volunteer/Concessions Update

Through the years, AVHA has tried different things in hopes to make us a better organization.  Part of becoming a better organization is fundraising and part of our fundraising efforts include tournaments, playoffs, & concessions.  In order for us to be successful at those items it takes the support of all our hockey families. This year (2007-2008) we are trying a two-part process for tournaments, playoff and concession duties.

Part one:
Each team will be given a small block of concession times to cover for league games, open skate & learn to skate.   These assignments will be given directly to each team and will NOT be found on the online volunteer system.  If you have players on multiple teams, you will need to cover for each team. NOTE:  Mite teams will be given mite hours to cover.

Part two:
Each family, including those with Mite players, will need to fulfill a minimum of 5 hours for tournaments/playoffs.  This includes our Boys Big Apple Tournament in November, Girls Big Apple Tournament in February and Regional Playoffs in March.  Each of these events will have multiple volunteer opportunities including:  scorekeeping, penalty box, concessions, and clock.  Sign-up for these shifts WILL be located on the online volunteer system.
